I worked from March 2005 to April 2006 as Customer Services Engineer for communications company, Abtec Network Systems.
The website was one of my first ventures into coding. I first made the site in PHP and then was requested to convert it into ASP.net, which was my first attempt at ASP.net.
The goal with the website was to update the look, increase and monitor traffic with Google Analytics, and provide a portal for a network analysis software application.
I started the website from scratch and updated the entire company branding- including the website, letterheads, brochures, case studies, business cards etc.
It was frustrating to be the only web designer in a computer network company but on the positive side I was given free reign to create, and I was able to develop my skills with Adobe Illustrator, CSS and learn the basics of ASP.net, MSSQL, and MSSQL reporting services.
I think the site was successful in updating the website and branding image from the previous one. However, I have learnt a lot since I made the site. So much, in fact, that I would rebuild the site from scratch if I got the opportunity.
I wanted to include the site here, because I’ve progressed a lot since I made the site and it was an important learning curve working at the company. View the site here.
